Staying in Touch 2.0

by Lili Kátai and Elias Schulz

Installation and Performance

This installation is derived from a performance by Lili Kátai and Elias Schulz is addressing and trying to digest the state of dementia. Personal experiences of the two directors are connected to extensions from psychology, literature theory, philosophy and care-work. A dialogue is staged to accompany the gradually fading memory and its occasional comeback.

Two video works seek to extend the performance that serve as a remix of visual material related to the performance, elaborating on its core mnemonic concept: Memory Palace. Adding to that, the installation features a proposal for a participatory project that aims to grasp the volatile nature of demented storytelling, titled Synopsis.
