hope is a practice

In times of ecological collapse, political repression, and social fragmentation, dominant ideas of security are failing. Surveillance, policing, and individualised preparedness promise protection, yet often produce exclusion, fear, and isolation.

Drawing on queer-feminist and antifascist activist approaches, this work explores how safety and resilience are not given, but collectively made — through shared vulnerability, negotiation, and mutual support. Here, hope appears as a fragile but powerful form of solidarity in the collapse: a constructive hope that does not deny collapse, but acknowledges it as a present reality and responds to it through collective action.
